I have returned. Trailing two grand-daughters. One almost ten and frighteningly tall (for shorties like me) and one of five years old, mad as a hatter and both are entirely adorable. Biased? Me? Surely not.

The journey home was not exactly a nightmare, but I've had better. Within an hour smallest one was claiming to feel 'sicky', and Tall One had watched an entire DVD by the time we made our first stop. I swapped places with Tall One and watched the beginning of Tarzan (Disney version) with Small One but the player ran out of charge about twenty minutes in. Small One not noticeably bothered. She perked up around lunch time and we concluded it had simply been the heat that bothered her. It was seriously warm.

We arrived home around half-five and had just got into the house when the sky opened and storm rain fell on my thirsty garden - and revealed a leak in the conservatory roof that Spouse will have to climb up and fix on the next dry day we have. (Apart from the planned day at the beach, day at the park, day at the farm, day at wherever we take the girls).

Eldest Daughter is moving house. We went to see it while we were down there; I really liked it and not just because the garden attracted me. (It needs work, but it could be made beautiful). It's always good to feel the offspring are doing well.

While we were in London we went to view the Youngest Daughter's posh new office block. V. impressed. Felt plebeian. She's doing well, my baby.

Now I'm home I need an update on the half-baked grandson - yOO HOOO Middle Daughter, need info!!

Wonder if the nephew will be jealous of the grand-daughters' presence in our house as he tends to regard us all as his own personal territory. Should be interesting.
