Went to dentist today for filling. Discovered that a contributing factor to my sudden lack of dental health is the side effect of two of the drugs that are stopping me from walking off tall building. Not stopping drugs, so will have to pay much more attention to teeth.
Sigh.
Also found that there's another reason why I haven't been able to swallow, it's being monitored in case it's something nasty. That's cheered me up no end, as you can imagine.
Prior to the dentist appt this afternoon, I took the MiL off to the Metrocentre. Looked at all the new kitchen stuff, she's going to have a new kitchen after all - if this move ever happens. She bought a polka dot lasagne dish and a new mug. Next time will try to edge her towards new kitchen utensils, the ones she has could have been first used by Noah's Grandmother.
Went to M&S for a quick pick-up of underwear for me (two-for-ten deals, three-for-ten basics)but MiL buys matching sets of expensive lacy v. 'feminine' stuff. She grabbed herself a new set or two and then said, "You shouldn't bring me here!" My fault, of course. But she looks so happy as she matches up the bra and knicks.
She also bought a knife. Not a sharp knife, a kitchen knife. A table knife. Because she thinks she's accidentally thrown out one of her. She lives alone. She has the remains of her mother's and her own crockery, cutlery and glassware. But, one dinner knife ....
Have invented nice (well, very nasty actually) weapon for The Thing That Never Ends. Now looking for an opportunity to use it. I'm sure that's not the right way write a book.
